That is sooo going to be the title of one of my books. It was supposed to be a poem and then I gave up on it. I recently just found that title on one of my old blogs and fell completely in love. I think I'm going to make it the sequel to Civies and Sunders, my best book ever.
Anyway, this is supposed to be a journal of sorts recording the process of moving from coast to coast and it hasn't really happened. It doesn't help that I've been extremely busy involved in that process...lots has happened since I last posted; too much to discuss.
I will mention one thing. We bought a new truck to use in pulling whatever RV we end up with and the truck is so awesomely BA that I nearly faint every time I walk past it. It is a black beauty, although we call it the Beast. It's just that kind of relationship. Anyway, the truck PURRS! Oh my gosh it is so gorgeous. It's a '95 Ford F350 Turbo Diesel WONDER. It is the four door extended cab version and, even better, it is a stick shift. It's a beautiful truck, the previous owner took great care of it and I totally want it for my inheritance.
(The above paragraph was completely deserving of a paragraph's worth of mention in this post.)
So apart from that wonderful news, we are on our way to TN/KY. What I mean by that is that we got two boxes packed up this weekend. Woohoo! (We got rid of a lot of stuff too...lol). My mom and I discovered that we don't need any dvd covers or cd covers and transferred all our cds and dvds to portable cases so they will be easy to bring along on our drive out. We were both surprised that we ended up spending $120 on the cases, and that we have so many movies and cds. 200 or so cds and over 300 dvds. Ridiculous. We could have spent all that money on good books or something.
Right now we are in the process of shopping for a RV for us to live in while we travel and while we look for a house. We are looking at pretty much anything that would be big enough for our family of five to live in comfortably. Bunkhouses are preferred, but we are looking at 5th wheel toy haulers too. We would prefer something with 2 slides, an outside door to the bathroom, at least three bunks or a trundle/couch in the bunk room with an entertainment center (gotta sharpen our Halo skills on our way down)...a washer/dryer unit is a plus, and so is extra fridge space via an outdoor kitchen or a full-size refrigerator. One and a half baths would be cool and we definitely want an awning. All jacks and slides power operated, not manual...etc. You get the picture.
We found one we really liked and then the guy sold it. Sent me into a fit of tears and depression. I'm so sick of campers/rvs. I just want to fly down and live with family. Forget the drive.
On another note I want a new laptop. I'm tired of PCs and sick of my own. I am going to get a mac although I don't like them much either (I'm on one now). Don't ask me why, it's just how I am. Anyway, that's an expensive purchase for poor college students like me who aren't savvy (or patient enough) to earn a small fortune on the side selling refurbished crap on ebay. So I have to purchase my mew laptop with money that's is sitting in my savings account which grows so slowly...sigh. I'm planning on getting a MacbookPro. And I want the 17 inch. Ouch.
I also want to get a truck. One like my dad's (mentioned briefly...ahem...above.) I found one in Clarksville, TN for 6500, but it is automatic, and a 250. Not as cool, but totally awesome. It's red, too. And that's another 6500 I don't have. So I have to sell the one I do first, which means no car for me up here. Eek. Going to have to wait on that truck...
So back to SlyBoots. SUCH and awesome title! I'm going to start writing right now.
